Saturday was Boston Urban Fest, AKA a free Mac Miller concert. His meet and greet was held at Laced Boston, which sadly was shut down by the cops. Fuckin blows since my friend Siearra and I were picked out of the line of hundreds of girls to hang out with Mac,because we were "pretty and dressed insane".
I still dig Laced, though. Wasn't their fault.
They had gnarly shoes and some great shirts I wish my boyfriend would let me dress him in. Plus the people who worked there were chill and "lit as fuck", as I heard repeated constantly, which is always great in my book.
The concert was just craziness, with something like 18,000 people RSVP'ing on FB. I witnessed about three girl fights, a white versus black dance off, and some death threats issued to myself courtesy of a 40 year old woman in a belly shirt whose space I was "crampin',". What a nutty day.
Sorry no picture of myself or my friends, I was just so caught up in all the insanity. If you guys head to Urban Fest in Boston next year, make sure to:
1. Wear shorts. A skirt or dress makes crowd surfing a bit of an issue, and odds are you will be tossed in the air at some point. Also there may be time where you need to climb strange barriers or fences. Don't ask, just do it.
2. Bring water and carry it in a small bag. There was a point when my friends and I were trying to meet up with another group and it took almost an hour and a half to move literally a hundred feet. You're going to be dehydrated and your bag will get rifled through. Sorry/:
3. If you're getting annoyingly pushed in the crowd, don't scream at anyone. I saw a guy slap a girl he didn't know for doing that. Anything goes at Urban Fest apparently, so keep your sassy comments to yourself.
It was completely ridiculous, but cheers to next year! Better see you there, friends.
